FAQ
Why do I need webmaster services?
- Because your website hasn’t been touched for months and if you search for it on Google it doesn’t appear in the first 5 pages of results.
- Your visitor numbers have dropped off significantly
- You aren’t getting any new business via your website
- Some of your pages have details of events/sales that happened a long time ago
- Your copyright info has last year’s date on it
- The links page contains links to websites that no longer exist or pages that have been removed
- The design for your website breaks DDA guidelines and so is technically breaking the law
How long do I have to use your services?
As long as you like but, as I charge for a month’s work at a time I will require one calendar month’s notice that you want to discontinue.
How much do you charge?
My charges vary depending on what you want me to do, but I have a pick and mix option with prices attached so you can choose what you’d like me to do based on what you can afford.
How long will it take before we see results of your work?
Whatever work I do on your website will be reflected in Google results when their lists are updated. This is generally every 6 weeks. However it’s a stealth process and on average will take a minimum of 6 months of regular updating etc for Google to lift your website up the rankings.
Can you guarantee our website will get on the first page of Google?
Unfortunately no. It depends how much competition is out there for your product or service already. Large well established websites will always out rank smaller newer ones no matter how hard I work on them. However there are ways that a few of your individual pages might be able to outrank a larger site’s offering.
My guarantee is that I will move your website up as high as it’s possible for it to go, and much higher than it currently is.
My website is already No.1 on Google, why do I need you?
What is your site No.1 for? If you mean that when you search for your company name ‘Joe Blogs Ltd’ it appears at no.1 then that isn’t a surprise. However if no one has ever heard of Joe Blogs Ltd and doesn’t know you make widgets, they won’t search for you. Instead they’ll search for widgets. Do you still come up no.1 for that?
If not you’re losing business because that’s where you make your money - selling widgets.
Unscrupulous companies offering web services say they will get you to No.1 on Google and use your company name search as proof that they have done it. It’s a result that offers you no business benefit at all.
